Luc Janin has a commendable background in street art. Prior to his career as a director he was held in high regard as a graffiti artist. It is understandable then that “Reso”, as he is known in graffiti circles, was chosen to direct this spot for Converse and Footlocker.

“Tape Art”, as it suggests follows a group of street artists around London creating art with gaffer tape as opposed to the more traditional spray can. The crew are all wearing the new winter ready leather Converse boots. Luc designed the site specific images to work for each location, directed the commercial and even stars as one of the artists. A multifaceted role for a multitalented director.

The film runs to the unmistakable sounds of DJ Shadow and the story is expertly edited by Tom Lindsay (Trim).
We added the finish here at Time Based Arts, seamlessly bringing together multiple plates in the time-lapse sequences, enhancing the tape artworks, creating the CCTV look at the beginning and adding our general love and attention throughout.
